Hi, I’m Kristi
I was born and raised in Southern California and moved to Northwest Alabama with my husband in 2004 while we were raising our family. Together we’ve raised five children, all now adults, and these days we call the mountains of Western North Carolina home. I’ve been happily married to my best friend for over 27 years, and much of my life today revolves around family, caring for my father, writing, and the work I feel called to do.
Life eventually carried me from Southern California to Northwest Alabama and later to the mountains of Western North Carolina, each chapter bringing its own lessons, challenges, and opportunities for growth. Looking back, I suppose the wandering was always part of the journey.
Where Wandering Gypsy Came From
The name Wandering Gypsy isn’t a character or persona I created. It’s rooted in my family history.
My ancestry includes Portuguese, Lithuanian, Danish, and Irish roots, and I grew up surrounded by family stories, traditions, beliefs, and perspectives passed down through generations. Some of those stories came from family members born in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Even today, I’m fortunate to have family elders whose lives bridge nearly a century of history, preserving stories and experiences that many families have long since lost.
Looking back, it’s no surprise that I developed a lifelong fascination with old stories, symbolism, folklore, ancestral wisdom, runes, and the threads that connect the past to the present. I’ve always been curious about how people throughout history sought guidance, meaning, and connection to the world around them.
Learning to Trust What I Noticed
Intuition wasn’t something unusual in my family. Paying attention to people, patterns, timing, feelings, and what couldn’t always be explained was simply part of life. Looking back, what I now call intuition was woven into everyday conversations long before I had language for it.
For as long as I can remember, friends and family would often ask how I knew certain things. Sometimes it was a feeling. Sometimes it was a knowing. Sometimes it was noticing patterns that others missed. I didn’t dismiss those experiences. I was curious about them. I wanted to understand them. Looking back now, I realize much of that curiosity was already ingrained in me from an early age.
More than anything, I’ve always been an observer. Whether through people, symbols, stories, timing, or the world around me, I’ve spent much of my life noticing patterns and asking questions. That curiosity continues to shape both my personal journey and the work I do today.
Over time, I realized I wasn’t just interested in finding answers. I was interested in understanding how things worked. Whether it was people, intuition, symbolism, divination, or life’s repeating patterns, I wanted to know why. That curiosity eventually shaped the way I guide others today. Rather than focusing on memorization or rigid systems, I encourage observation, understanding, and learning how to recognize patterns and see the connections for yourself.
The Search for Understanding
In 2018, I began intentionally searching for answers to questions I had carried for years. That search led me into deeper study of mediumship, intuitive development, tarot, oracle cards, symbolism, divination, and spiritual development.
Over the years, I’ve participated in classes, workshops, development circles, mentorships, and group studies with respected teachers and practitioners. Some became teachers. Some became friends. All became part of the journey.
In 2019, I adopted the name Kristi Wandering Gypsy because it reflected both my heritage and the path I had been walking my entire life: a path of curiosity, observation, learning, and following where life leads next.
When Life Changed Directions
Like many people, life had other plans along the way.
In 2019, my father came to live with us, and much of my focus shifted toward family and caregiving. There were seasons when personal responsibilities needed my full attention. Even during those years, I never stopped learning, studying, practicing, writing, or developing my abilities. The work simply moved into the background while life took center stage.
Today, I find myself in a season where those worlds can coexist.
The Work I Do Today
My work blends mediumship, intuitive guidance, tarot, oracle cards, runes, symbolism, divination, and spiritual development. I pay close attention to timing, cycles, human behavior, and the patterns that seem to connect people, experiences, and events. Rather than focusing solely on prediction, I look for the larger story unfolding beneath the surface and the insights that help bring clarity, understanding, and perspective.
I don’t see myself as someone who has all the answers.
I see myself as an observer, a guide, and someone who helps people make sense of the patterns unfolding in their lives.
Over time, I realized the labels mattered less than the purpose. Whether through a reading, a class, a conversation, or a blog post, my goal has always remained the same: helping people find clarity, understanding, and perspective.
Why I Write
I’ve always loved writing. Long before I called it intuitive writing, I was filling notebooks with observations, questions, and reflections. The blog became a natural extension of that process. It gives me space to explore ideas, symbolism, timing, intuition, and the patterns I see connecting individual experiences to larger collective themes in a way that simply doesn’t fit into a one-minute social media video.
I’ve never been interested in proving that I was right. What matters to me is helping people find clarity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of themselves and the experiences they’re navigating.
