Notes from the Threshold
April 9 – Building into the New Moon on April 17… and continuing

This reflection, Post-it Notes, Check Engine Lights, and Carpenter Bees, began with a quiet moment on my porch.
Alright…
You ever have one of those moments where nothing is technically wrong…
but you know something needs your attention?
Yeah. That.
⸻
We’re not in that stretch anymore where it was one thing after another.
At least, I’m not.
That season ran its course for me.
This feels different.
This is after.
I handled a lot.
I moved through it.
And now I’m walking around my life noticing
what still needs a tweak.
You know… the little things you ignored while you were busy surviving.
⸻
What I’m seeing right now
Post-it notes.
Not a list.
Not a breakdown.
Just little things catching your eye.
Stuff you’ve been meaning to look at.
Nothing wrong. Nothing broken.
Just enough to make you go, “huh… noted.”
⸻
The way it’s hitting
It’s like your car after a long drive.
You made it.
But now…
there’s a light on,
maybe a weird sound,
maybe it’s pulling just a little.
Nothing stopping you.
But enough that you know…
yeah… I should probably look at that.
⸻
And here’s what made it click for me
I was sitting on the porch this afternoon
and a carpenter bee would not leave me alone.
Right in my face.
Following me.
Just… there.
At first,
I’m like hold up…
is this a bumble bee?
am I about to get stung?
why is this thing not backing off?
So, I look it up.
Carpenter bee.
No stinger.
Just loud. In your space. Looks intimidating as hell.
And the second I realized that…
everything shifted.
Same situation.
Different understanding.
It went from “what is this?”
to “oh… I see what this is.”
And it stopped feeling like something I needed to react to.
⸻
That’s the energy right now.
Not everything that feels intense
is actually a problem.
Sometimes it’s just something
you haven’t fully identified yet.
⸻
There’s something else under this.
This doesn’t feel random.
It feels more like things are starting to line up a little.
Not all at once.
Just enough for you to notice.
⸻
And these little post it notes?
They’re not just random things popping up.
They’re showing you
what might get in the way later
if you don’t handle it now.
You see one carpenter bee…
there’s a hive somewhere.
Or at least the beginning of one.
⸻
This isn’t breakdown energy.
It’s prep work.
Hell, we are in spring. Well, we’re supposed to be.
I got my patio furniture out ready for some relaxing in the sun,
plants out on the deck…
then a cold snap out of nowhere. 😂
⸻
So, it’s not about fixing everything.
It’s about clearing space to get ready for what’s to come.
Making room.
Tightening things up just enough
so, when things do start moving…
you’re not tripping over the same stuff.
We won’t need the blankets, heaters, and extra cold-weather things sitting right in front of us on the porch forever, right?
⸻
So, I went digging around
What can the stars tell me about what’s going on?
What can the astrology tell me?
For me, this is where I looked.
Because right now… everything is sitting in Aries.
The Sun is there.
Saturn is there.
Neptune is there.
And Mars just moved into Aries, which is a big one since it rules Aries.
So yeah… it’s heavy there.
And with the New Moon coming up in Aries too,
it makes sense that this is where my attention went.
Not random.
I was even talking about Aries even with my older daughter and my husband the other day,
at different times.
So, when something keeps showing up like that, I pay attention.
If I see a duck, I’m going to look at why.
Or a carpenter bee. 😂
And Aries… I mean…
Everyone jumps straight to “God of war,”
which, yeah, is part of it.
But it’s also:
raw energy
new beginnings
a pioneering spirit
courage and unwavering determination
direct and honest action
impulsive energy
that leap-first think-later vibe
desire and drive
setting things in motion
the ability to break through barriers
So, for me, it made sense to look at where all that Aries energy is hitting in my life, based on my rising sign and the house it falls in.
That’s what I checked.
That’s why I went there.…
because it lined up with what I was already seeing.
But let me be clear…
this is just a post it note.
Or a check engine light.
Looking at where Aries is in your chart
is like checking your dashboard when a light comes on.
It tells you where to look.
But it’s not opening the hood.
If you need someone to pop that hood and really take a look, send me a message. I’ll point you to an amazing astrologer.
⸻
When I looked at mine, it made sense.
The more I sat with it, the clearer it became.
When I checked my astrology, it lined up with what I was already feeling.
The Aries energy tied to this moment speaks to transformation, boundaries, trust, emotional clarity, and recognizing what needs attention beneath the surface.
Which, honestly, tracks.
It mirrors the whole theme of this post.
Post-it notes. Awareness. Noticing what quietly demands my attention
before it becomes impossible to ignore.
And it reflects instinctual knowing.
That moment when you finally identify what you’re looking at and everything clicks into place… like realizing that carpenter bee wasn’t a threat after all.
I need to remember that my first instinct is usually the right one.
Oh, you have no idea how hard that one is.
Trust. Trusting myself.
So instead of second-guessing myself or trying to figure out what everyone else expects,
I trust what stands out and move.
Yeah… trust.
That’s really what this whole blog is about.
Recognizing what’s right in front of me.
Understanding it for what it is.
And responding in a way that feels authentic to who I am.
And for the record… this part is personal.
That’s how it showed up for me.
If you’re curious about your own chart, try looking up where Aries falls based on your rising sign and house placement.
It might offer insight into what’s getting your attention right now.
Couldn’t hurt to look.
⸻
And Then There Was This…
When I came back down to my office to post the notes I had taken on the porch for this blog, I pushed play on my random shuffle radio. “365” by Shinedown came on.
Not loud. Not chaotic. Just reflective.
One of those songs that makes you pause and take stock for a second.
So, I pulled two cards from the Inner Wisdom Compass.
The first one: Solitude.
Take the time to be alone. Tune out the noise and the chaos of the world. Tune into your inner peace.
Well… alright then. Message received.
The second card was upside down. Not that it changes the meaning, but it definitely made me pay attention.
Unique.
When the Creator made you, they broke the mold. There is not another person like you on earth. Celebrate being different.
And honestly? That one hit.
A reminder not to blend in. Not to question what makes us different. Just to trust it.
Then the next song on shuffle came on. “Drift and Die” by Puddle of Mudd.
Talk about contrast.
Not doom and gloom. Just a reality check. A reminder of what happens when you lose direction or drift too far from yourself trying to fit where you don’t belong.
And now, as I’m wrapping this up, shuffle strikes again. “Just Like You” by Three Days Grace is playing.
If that’s not the cherry on top, I don’t know what is.
So taken together, here’s what I got:
Pause.
Be still.
Trust who you are.
Don’t drift away from yourself trying to be like everyone else.
You weren’t meant to be like everyone else.
You were meant to be yourself.
Not everything is a sign.
But sometimes… everything lines up just enough to remind you of what you already know.
And that was enough for me.
⸻
Bringing it back around
This isn’t doom and gloom.
It’s just life giving you a gentle nudge.
Nothing dramatic.
Just a quiet moment of clarity.
A chance to notice what’s in front of you,
trust your instincts,
and adjust if needed.
You know… like a post it note,
a check engine light,
or a carpenter bee in your face saying,
“Hey. Pay attention.”
⸻
So, here’s the move right now
When something catches your attention…
don’t overthink it.
Lord knows I go there more than you think.
Don’t ignore it.
Just pause and ask:
→ Is this something I need to handle now?
If the answer is yes…
handle it.
If not…
at least now you’re aware of it.
You can ignore it…
but it’s not going anywhere.
⸻
this might not hit right away… but save this
Because sometimes life doesn’t shout.
It flicks on a check engine light,
sticks a post it note in your face,
or sends a carpenter bee to get your attention.
And if you’re paying attention…
you’ll know exactly where to focus and what needs adjusting.
