That Umbrella Flying Across the Room That Was My First Clue…

Looking back now… I probably should’ve known it was gonna be one of THOSE days 😂

So, I was sitting on the porch about to go do some planting around the house. Before I even went outside, I walked to the front door and noticed the umbrella that had been tucked in by the corner somehow ended up halfway across the kitchen floor.

Now… could I explain exactly how it got there? Nope 😆

Could there be a totally logical explanation? Probably.

But honestly it felt like one of those moments that just gets your attention for a second and makes you stop and go:

“Huh… well that’s interesting.”

And honestly… kinda fit the energy lately too.

Things shifting position.

Things moving unexpectedly.

Stuff getting your attention outta nowhere.

So, I picked it up and headed outside.

I was working with one of my blackberry plants trying to redirect it toward an old fence post with some hemp twine. Mind you… my driveway is basically a controlled slide into the woods 😂

I cut a piece of twine, set the ball down for two seconds and that damn thing took off rolling down the hill like it had somewhere important to be.

And there I went chasing after it before it disappeared completely.

By the time I caught it, the whole inside had unraveled. Still a ball of twine. Still useful. Just not sitting the same way anymore.

So, I shoved the loose pieces back in there the best I could so I wouldn’t trip over it later and suddenly realized I could use the extra twine to help support a couple other plants nearby that needed anchoring.

Then one of the thorns caught me while I was doing it and I laughed thinking:

“Alright plant… guess we’re not going THAT direction anymore.”

After that I grabbed some onion bulbs I had to plant and I stopped halfway through.

Not because I couldn’t plant them.

It just didn’t feel like the right spot yet.

Everything around me already looked healthy and balanced and I thought:

“Why am I trying to crowd a space that already feels good the way it is?”

So, I paused on it.

Then I noticed one of my sage plants wasn’t doing nearly as well as the one sitting up on the porch.

Not dead.

Just not thriving where it was.

So, I carefully dug it up, kept the roots intact and moved it beside the other sage plant to see if it would do better there.

Then while typing all this, I suddenly remembered my aloe plants

So, I went and checked on them.

And it hit me… you can repot things, move things around, try to help them along… but eventually they still need sunlight if you want them to keep growing.

Somewhere in the middle of all this chaos today I started laughing because every bit of it felt like a metaphor 😆

Stuff moving unexpectedly.

Things unraveling a little and not fitting back together the same way they used to.

Realizing some things need support instead of force.

Some things grow better once they’re moved somewhere healthier.

And sometimes the best thing you can do is pause instead of forcing something into a space that doesn’t feel right yet.

So yeah…

before I even started gardening.

Kinda Makes you pay attention to little moments differently.

Because sometimes life explains itself in the middle of ordinary moments if we’re really paying attention.

Anyways… apparently this week’s message came through runaway hemp twine, umbrellas and plants

Wasn’t expecting all that from a Tuesday.
